Candle Care & FAQs

Candle Safety

Every candle features care and lighting instructions on the label located at the bottom. Candles provide a delightful aromatic enhancement to both living and working environments and are safe for enjoyment; however, we recommend exercising care and attention to the following guidelines.

  • It is essential to light candles in a room that is well-ventilated and placed on a surface that can withstand heat.

  • Do not leave a lit candle without supervision.

  • To promote even burning and reduce smoke or flickering, avoid placing candles in areas with drafts, vents, ceiling fans, or other sources of moving air.

  • Refrain from touching a lit candle or relocating it while the wax is still in a liquid state.

  • Do not use water to extinguish candles.

  • Ensure that a candle is fully extinguished before exiting the room.

  • Keep candles out of reach of young children and pets.

  • Avoid burning candles on or near flammable materials.

Burning Your Candle

ALWAYS trim your wick to 1/8” - 1/4” before lighting. Every time. Your candle will burn longer, cleaner and more evenly.

To achieve optimal performance during the initial burn, it is essential to allow the candle to form a complete melted wax pool that spans the entire surface. This practice promotes uniform burning and maximizes fragrance release throughout the candle's lifespan, typically accomplished within a three-hour period. For subsequent uses, it is advisable to maintain a burn duration of 3 to 4 hours, ensuring that the wax is fully melted across the top with each lighting.

If you prefer to keep a candle lit for an extended duration, it is highly recommended to extinguish the flame, trim the wicks, and relight the candle every 3 to 4 hours. This approach will extend the overall burn time and minimize the risk of excessive carbon accumulation on the wick tip, which can occur irrespective of the wax or fragrance composition. Should the wick exhibit excessive smoking or flickering, it is prudent to extinguish the flame, trim the wick, and then relight the candle. Additionally, it is important to keep the wax pool free from wick trimmings, matches, and any other debris at all times.

Exercise caution when extinguishing the candle; a brief, directed breath of air directed at each wick is typically adequate. Alternatively, a candle snuffer may be employed. It is advisable to avoid using a candle lid to extinguish the flame, as this can cause smoke to accumulate within the container.

To minimize smoke from a recently extinguished wick, gently bend the wick until it makes contact with the melted wax. This action will promptly eliminate any smoke. Alternatively, a toothpick or similar implement can be used to apply a few drops of melted wax onto the wick tip to achieve the same effect. Refrain from moving candles until the wax has cooled and solidified. Exercise care, as the containers may become hot to the touch. Dispose of candles when there is a quarter inch of wax remaining.

Q&A

  • We utilize premium, pure fragrance oils that are specially formulated for candle making and include essential oil elements. Furthermore, all of our fragrances are devoid of phthalates and parabens, along with a comprehensive list of other harmful chemicals associated with cancer and various health concerns. Due to the fragile and expensive characteristics of essential oils, we advise customers to diffuse or otherwise savor their essential oils, while opting for high-quality, natural wax candles for burning.

  • When approximately 1/4 inch of wax remains, it is advisable to cease using the candle. Exercise caution when removing the leftover wax, wicks, and any labels. We recommend using a rigid silicone utensil to gently scrape out the wax and wicks or wick stickers, as knives or other metal tools are not advisable. Dispose of all wax in the trash, ensuring that it is never placed down the drain or in a garbage disposal. Subsequently, immerse the container in hot soapy water to loosen any remaining residue and labels, then wash, rinse, and dry it thoroughly. It is not recommended to scrape off labels, as this may damage the container's surface.

  • We utilize a unique combination of soy wax and coconut wax, which is natural, sustainable, vegan, and non-toxic. Both the coconut wax and soy wax are neutral in fragrance. Our candles are designed to provide a consistent and prolonged burn.
